Sleep was in short supply last night. The rumble of the Lone Star Rally echoed across the island — loud, constant, and somehow still going as the sun came up. It’s the worst it’s been in years. I’m grumpy, craving quiet, and ready for a nap I know I won’t get. Chad’s back on shift again, helping cover the influx of half a million visitors who’ve taken over our small corner of the coast.

So today, the table looks simple: skillet potato hash from Magnolia Table Vol. 2, Chicago dogs with all the fixings, and a bowl of potato chips with ranch dip. No fuss, no fanfare — just comfort food for a weary day.

Sometimes grace looks like choosing the easy meal and letting the potatoes crisp while the noise outside fades for a while.
