The first time I stirred marshmallows into melted butter, I realized this is what magic smells like. Sweet, toasty, sticky alchemy. A bowl of cereal suddenly transformed into something more. Isn’t that the dream? That the ordinary could become extraordinary with just a little care.
Jesus painted a vision of a world where everyone is seen, fed, and valued. But most days, it feels like I’m fumbling with buttered spatulas, trying to stretch what I have to cover the hungry gaps. I think about the table He set; fishermen, tax collectors, women who weren’t supposed to matter, children who had been pushed aside. Everyone got a seat. Everyone got a square of sweetness. And maybe it starts here, with small batches. Not grand gestures or extravagant banquets, but a pan of Rice Krispy treats made just big enough to share with the neighbor, the friend who needs a snack with her coffee, or the teenager who always raids the kitchen.
Small Batch White Chocolate Rice Krispy Treats
What You Will Need:
- ¾ tablespoon butter
- ¾ cup mini marshmallows
- ¼ cup white chocolate baking chips
- 1 ½ cups Rice Krispies cereal
- Non-stick baking spray

What You Will Need To Do:
- In a medium saucepan, melt ¾ tbsp butter over low heat, stirring so it doesn’t brown.
- Add ¾ cup marshmallows and stir until they start to melt.
- Just before they’re fully smooth, add ¼ cup white chocolate chips. Stir until silky.
- Remove from heat. Fold in 1 ½ cups Rice Krispies cereal, coating every piece.
- Spray a small baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Transfer mixture to the dish, press evenly with a spatula sprayed with non-stick spray.
- Let cool for 10–15 minutes, slice, and share.

It’s not the size of the pan that matters; it’s the heart behind it. Jesus didn’t measure by abundance; He measured by presence. Even in the smallest batch of kindness, there’s room for someone to feel seen. Maybe bringing His vision to reality looks less like solving the world and more like noticing the one right in front of me. A teenager at the counter. A friend who needs to know she isn’t forgotten. A pan of sweet squares cut into three.
So I couldn’t help but wonder: what if our best shot at building the Kingdom is found in small batches; tiny portions of kindness, presence, and care that add up to something bigger than we could ever bake alone?
💭 What small batch of care could you stir up this week? Who might need just one square of sweetness?
